JIS Z 3129:2017 specifies the preparation of test specimens taken from butt welded test pieces for one-run and two-run technique in steel using submerged arc welding consumables, and flux cored wires for gas sealed arc weld and for self sealed arc weld.

This Standard does not apply to the welded joints using electro-slag and electro-gas arc welding consumables.
