This standard establishes bench test procedures for service brakes in disc brake caliper assemblies (hereinafter referred to as "caliper assemblies") that normally operate in trucks and buses. Test procedures for disc brakes used in small-sized trucks and buses shall conform to JASO C448. However, dynamometer tests on frictional characteristics are not included.
Furthermore, this standard shall not apply to air disc brakes.
