This standard specifies cold-forged steel hexagon bolts with flange used for automobiles (hereinafter referred to as "bolts").
The standard does not apply to bolts requiring weldability, heat resistance against temperatures above 300ºC, or cold resistance against temperatures less than -50ºC
Note 1 The width across flat of the bolts is the same as that of the hexagon bolts with flange described in the Annex of JIS B 1190, the small-type hexagon nuts described in the Annex of JIS B 1181, and the hexagon nuts described in JASO F 102.
Note 2 Annex A specifies bolts not complying with the body of the Standard.
