This standard specifies hexagon steel nuts with flange (hereinafter referred to as "nuts") for use on automobiles. The standard does not apply to nuts requiring weldability, heat resistance against tempratures above 300 °C, or cold resistance against tempratures less than -50 °C.
Note: Annex A specifies nuts not complying wht the body of the standard.
