MIL-DTL-19772C covers automatic temperature regulating valves for naval shipboard steam, water, and other fluid service where accurate temperature control of fluid is required. These valves are of the self-operated type requiring no external power supply such as oil, water, steam, electricity, or compressed gas for their operation. However, when the failsafe mode is required (see 6.2), it can be externally powered.
