This specification covers quenched or quench and tempered ultra-high-hardness (UHA) wrought steel armor plate for lightweight armor applications for ordered thicknesses from 0.118 inches (3mm) up to an ordered thickness of 0.630 inches (16mm), inclusive (see 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3). Although the major intent of UHA is an armor appliqu̩, UHA could be utilized as a welded structural plate if welded by special techniques.
