This Defence Standard states the requirements for the construction, fitting out and testing of all temperature controlled, refrigerated victualling compartments in HM Surface Ships and/or Submarines and Royal Fleet Auxiliaries (RFA) when specified.
The Def Stan is not applicable to the construction aspects of Domestic Automatic Refrigerated (DAR) equipment.
This Def stan applies to refrigerated spaces which are:
constructed on board
manufactured off- site and assembled on board (modular construction).
