This NES identifies the reports, forms and certificates which NES 32 generates when called up in the procurement documents. It also identifies:

a. The main events and activities which require or give rise to formal documentation.

NOTE Test Group activities are excluded.

b. The Authority responsible for compiling and submitting each document.

c. The nature (report, form or certificate), and typical distribution of completed documents.

Section 1.3 gives guidance on the reporting policy for submarines.

Annexes D. to F. provide typical lists of activities and events, and indicate normal reporting patterns, which occur during the building of a surface ship, and from which the Warship IPTL can compile requirements which are vessel - specific.

Annex G. provides a typical list of forms and certificates which are required to be rendered during, and subsequent to, the building of avessel. It also states whether the form is to be listed in the Defect and Deficiency Database (D3B).

Annex H. gives general information on Tonnage Certification.

Annex I. provides instructions for taking official photographs of new MOD vessels and craft.
