MODUK DEF STAN 02-307 PDF

This Defence Standard (DEF STAN) specifies the requirement which is to be met by Shipbuilders and equipment suppliers during the selection, manufacture and shore testing of major items of workshop equipment.

Selection procedures are defined in this DEF STAN to guide Shipbuilders and equipment suppliers.

This DEF STAN does not specify the requirements for the selection, manufacture or shore testing of the items of equipment listed below, or defined in DEF STAN 02-43, unless specifically listed in a Definition Sheet.

a. Ancillary Support Equipment (ASE) such as jigs, gauges, lubrication plugs, cleaning tools and test equipment.

b. Common User Hand Tools (CUHT), i.e. Naval Stores items listed under management codes 0721 to 0729 and 0579.

c. Common User Mechanical Test Equipment (CUMTE), including mechanically operated or simulated test equipment identified in BR 3925.

Annex D. contains a series of Equipment Definition sheets. The basic information regarding one item of workshop equipment already in use by the Naval Service is contained in one set of definition sheets.

Original design and development of free-standing workshop equipment would not ordinarly be sponsored by MOD(PE). The procedure for this practice is, therefore, not included in this DEF STAN.
