This Defence Standard (Def Stan) specifies the requirements for the design, materials, installation and testing of main propulsion plant condensers in HM Nuclear Powered Submarines.
The Def Stan does not cover direct contact condensers.
Unless otherwise specified major interfaces with other systems are:
Main Circulating Water System;
Main Feed System;
Dump Steam (where fitted);
Turbine Exhaust Steam;
Low Pressure Drain Steam;
Control and Instrumentation;
Gland Sealing System.
