This NES i n conjunction with the documents quoted herein, specifies the requirements and method of presentation of electrical installation cabling diagrams and associated data f o r Surface Ships, Submarines and Shore Establishment Installations that simulate ship conditions.

This NES also defines the minimum acceptable standards and requirements for computer processed documentation associated with electrical installation cabling diagrams.

This NES does not include requirements for computer produced schedules used f o r such purposes as stock control, cable cutting and other data not strictly involved with installation information to suit individual shipbuilders

The actual drawing requirements and/or computer processed documents for a particular vessel, class of vessel or shore establishment will be specified in the Contract Documents and are to take preference where the requirements differ from those defined in this NES.
