This Defence Standard (Def Stan) 02–517 Part 5, covers the manufacture and testing requirements of miscellaneous cable types not covered in Def Stan 02–517 Parts 1 to 4, where usage is specific to HM Surface Ships, Submarines and Shore/Underwater applications.
The voltage rating of the cables is as specified in the Tables of Dimensions contained in Annex C and the frequency of supply is up to and including 400 Hz.
Cables shall be required to withstand the conditions of reeving, temporary support and glanding into equipment and through bulkheads, which are accepted practices in the Shipbuilding and Ship refitting industry.
