MODUK DEF STAN 02-581: PART 1 PDF

This Part gives the procedures for the selection and approval of electrical and electronic components for use in Ship and Weapon Systems and Equipment designed for Surface Ships and Submarines. It extends the range of the information on the subject given in Def Stan 59-36.

The objectives are:

to state the order of preference for the selection of electrical and electronic components so that, as far as possible, a component is selected which conforms to acceptable standards;

to provide information for the completion and approval of the electrical and electronic component vetting list;

to effect economies and reduce logistic support cost by restricting component proliferations.

This Part does not in any way alter the requirements of Def Stan 59-36 and DEFCON 17.
