MODUK DEF STAN 02-587: PART 1 PDF

This Defence Standard (Def Stan), in conjunction with the documents referred to herein, specifies the requirements for the lighting of the various compartments and spaces of all HM Surface Ships. It does not necessarily apply to vessels built to commercial standards (e.g. Lloyd's Rules).

This Def Stan is only applicable to vessels having an all–metal hull construction. Variations may be required for vessels of glass reinforced plastic construction and these shall be detailed in the relevant Ship Specification.
