This NES specifies the requirements f o r the design and installation of Sewage and Grey-Water Disposal Systems i n Surface Ships. It covers systems requirements f o r sewage, pulped food waste, wash waters, general garbage slurries, deck drains and scuppers. The systems referred to are from source of waste to point of discharge. Sewage Sanitary flushing systems are al so included.

The NES does not include clearance of water from drain tanks or oily water from bilges.
