This standard provides guidance and treatment requirements for the mitigation of corrosion of copper alloy materials in seawater system pipework, coolers and heat exchangers aboard surface and submarine fleet vessels during build, refit, fleet time maintenance/upkeep operations and during the operational cycle of the vessel.
The previous issue of the standard provided process and procedure requirements for the protection of seawater systems using one specific chemical, SDD (Sodium Dimethyldithiocarbamate). This issue provides a range of treatment options with a ranking preference.
