This Standard is a Category 1 Maritime Defence Standard as described in Foreword paragraph 15.
Defence Standard 02-879 Part 2 covers other copper alloy forgings, forging stock, rods and sections as a Category 2 Marine Defence Standard.
This Standard shall not be used in support of new acquisition of surface ships
