This Defence Standard defines the requirements for the manufacture, testing and supply of aluminium alloy patterned treadplate and treadstrip for use in HM Ships.

Two patterns are covered:

a) Positive grip pattern.

b) Toothed pattern.

These aluminium treadplates are not to be used for floor plates fitted within machinery compartments.
