This Defence Standard conveys to the Contractor the Ministry of Defence (MOD) requirements for dry docking, slipping, synchro lifting, or lifting by crane of HM Ships, HM Submarines, RFAs and all other MOD owned ships, craft and vessels.

It does not apply to hovercraft or to small craft and boats of 15m overall length or less.

It does not apply to beaching or "landing" on mud berths.
