The purpose of this Defence Standard is to provide general technical advice on soldering and brazing. It includes design considerations, quality control and inspection and information on the limitations of the processes for certain materials.
Reference should be made to DEF STAN 00-10 PART 6 for the special requirements for soldered electrical connections and the brazing of electronic equipment. Similarly parts which will be in contact with explosives or pyrotechnics may be covered by specialised instructions.
