This Defence Standard states material, equipment, manufacturing and quality requirements for arc welding of Rolled Homogeneous Armour (RHA) in the construction of armoured fabrications as well as limited requirements for high hardness armour.
All such welding shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of this Defence Standard.
Non armour ferrous material shall be welded to "best practice". Refer to BS EN 1011-2, BS EN 1011-3 and BS EN 757 for guidance. Weld procedure specifications shall be produced and qualified in accordance with BS EN ISO 15614-1, BS EN ISO 15611 or BS EN ISO 15613 288-3.
