Contracts or Specifications will quote Def Stan 05-123. Where it is intended that only limited portions apply, the relevant sections or clauses will be stated.

In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the requirement of a Contract or Specification and this Standard or parts thereof, the order of precedence, unless otherwise stated in the Contract, shall normally be: contract, Specification, this Standard. Cases of doubt shall be referred to the Ministry of Defence (MOD) IPTL for resolution.
