This NES: 

a. describes the various types of waveguide (WG) available;

b. defines the preferred WG types, sizes and flange configurations and materials permitted for new designs and to support existing designs;

c. states WG sub assembly design requirements and identifies minimum drawing requirements to record the design;

d. defines the requirements for WG Kits;

e. records the preferred methods of securing flanges to tubing, tabulates jigs and fixtures available and identifies the finishes to be applied;

f. states the requirements for dry air supplies to WG;

g. states the general packaging requirements specific t o WG.

NOTE Ships WG runs ( ie WG not provided as part of an equipment or antenna) must in addition comply with NES 1050, Part 2.
