This Defence Standard (Def Stan) 22–15 specifies the details for the materials, manufacture, testing and packing of 64 mm bore reinforced synthetic rubber hose complete with the couplings, for Abeam Replenishment at Sea (RAS) of potable water.
This Standard also includes production tests and inspections, identification and packing, installation on-board Ship and storage and issue.
The hose has an overall life of 10 years from date of manufacture, of which a maximum of six years is allowed for working life and up to four years in stores.
The 64 mm hose shall not be used for suction purposes. The working pressure of the 64 mm hose shall be 10 bar.
The 64 mm hose assembly shall be used in conjunction within the RAS rig configuration for 153 mm hoses. It is not designed to be used on its own without support from the other hoses in the rig.
