MODUK DEF STAN 61-012: PT 33: SUPP 001 PDF

This standard specifies the unique properties and construction of particular wire or cable which meets the minimum requirements for general airframe wires and cables of Def Stan 61-012 (Part 33). The Supplement tabulates conductor details and wire constructions with their NATO Stock Numbers (NSNs).

Historic cables meeting the requirements of Defence Standard 61-012 Pt 33 Supp 1 have not been tested for compliance with Defence Standard 07-247 and are therefore prohibited from use in submarines and ships. Future design requirements shall give consideration to tests detailed in DS 07-247 and if those tests are not viable, then agreement shall be sought from Authority that they will not be completed. Agreement shall be provided in writing from the appropriate Authority.
