This Section of the Defence Standard defines the climatic and mechanical environmental conditions/stresses likely to be encountered by ground generating sets during deployment by the Ministry of Defence.
The environmental stresses identified include the natural stresses of ground conditions within the UK/NATO/Quadripartite deployment and training areas, together with the induced stresses of transport by land, sea and air. A number of tests are specified to demonstrate ability to successfully withstand the environmental stresses.
