This Defence Standard specifies the performance requirements for preservative treatments to protect textiles from microbiological attack without causing degradation of the textile beyond specific limits.
The performance requirements are mandatory for all proposed treatments and where the treated textile is either to be coated and/or adjacent to an alloy or polymer, additional tests are required where performance may be impaired by the preservative treatment.
