This Defence Standard specifies the requirements for a two-pack, cold-curing polyurethane finishing paint with anti-slip properties and, if required, Infra Red Reflecting (IRR) or Low Infra Red reflectance (LIR) properties. Three Types of paints with varying levels of anti-slip properties are specified. The three Types differ in the composition and concentration of the aggregate used and each material is designed for application to designated external areas of service aircraft as specified in the aircraft drawings.
