This Def Stan specifies the requirements for an air drying, textured, fuel resistant, single pack anti-slip finish for application and repair to interior and exterior walkways of Defence equipment where CARC properties are not required. The anti-slip paint system is not recommended for use on Royal Navy Ship platforms which includes the repair of flight decks, hangar decks, weather decks or areas subjected to heavy wear conditions. In addition, the paint system is not recommended for any aircraft structure.
Description
A textured, anti-slip paint for use with a suitable priming paint, where CARC properties are not required. Under normal circumstances, the paint system will be applied to suitably prepared substrates.
A paint system consisting of one coat of the appropriate priming paint and one coat of finish will provide a textured, anti-slip, fuel resistant coating for walkways which will withstand normal service conditions for a period of not less than one year.
The paint system is not recommended for use on Royal Navy ships, nor Aircraft structures.
The paint is available in a limited range of colours normally chosen from BS 381C.
