This Interim Standard specifies; selection, use, material properties, manufacturing details and test requirements for moulded plastic equipment cases, reusable, for the packaging of service equipment. They are limited to gross package mass values that fall within the Manual Handling Regulations and related safety regulations. Typical types of container carcase formation that are included in this standard are Rotary, Blow and Injection Moulding.
Note: Where Military Packaging Levels are required the preparation of a SPIS design in accordance with Def Stan 81-41 (Part 4) is a requirement.
