This Standard specifies requirements for the design, test and supply of HPPA equipment for Joule-Thomson effect infra-red detector systems, for use within all departments of the MOD.

For use on guided weapons systems the requirements of Def Stan 08-5 shall also be met. In the event of conflict, the requirements of Def Stan 08-5 shall take precedence.

NOTE: The requirements specified in this Standard are restricted to pressure cylinders and daptor valves. Requirements for other equipments may be added in due course.
