This Defence Standard (Def Stan) 91-021 specifies the requirements for one (1) grade of Lubricating Oil, Compounded, for use in exposed parts of reciprocating machinery which are not fed by forced lubrication and where the Oil is subject to water contamination. The Oil is also used for the lubrication of certain gearboxes, mainly those in exposed positions.
