This Standard specifies the requirements for a permanently Static Dissipative Polypropylene Material, in granular form, suitable for the production of coloured Injection Mouldings or Thermoformable Sheets, using conventional processing equipment. These products are used for locating an otherwise unprotected electrostatic sensitive item in a container. Typically, they are used (but not exclusively) in the packaging of certain munitions, which are susceptible to an electrostatic charge.

The material may be suitable for certain applications where compatibility with explosives is a requirement. However, compatibility with all explosives in all environments has not established and Design Authorities should seek advice on particular applications from the Munitions Section, Defence Packaging, Bld S11, Fort Halstead, Kent, TN14 7BP.
