This Standard relates to low density polyethylene film in the form of sheet and lay flat tubing in the thickness range 65 to 250 micrometres, and available in widths from 25 mm upwards, for use in packaging Service equipment and stores. It is suitable for use as a protective wrap for such things as rubber components and clothes etc where the exclusion of light is of prime importance. Material complying with this specification has a water vapour permeability such that the product of water vapotir permeability in grams per square metre per 24 hours and gravimetric thickness in micrometres should not exceed 500 when measured in accordance with BS 2782, Method 513B or 513D. It is not suitable for use as a grease resisting wrap.
