This Defence Standard specifies the requirements for vulcanized butyl rubber in the form of calendered sheet suitable for fabricating into weather and ozone resistant flexible containers.
The material can be bonded to itself by a hot vulcanizing technique using an intermediate unvulcanized butyl rubber tape without pretreating the adherends.
