Definitions 

For the purposes of this condition,

"Packaging" when used as a verb shall mean the preparation of Explosives for transportation, storage and delivery in accordance with the Contract. The term includes, as appropriate, cleaning and preservation processes, packing techniques, marking procedures and package sealing methods; 

"Packaging" when used as a noun shall mean the materials and components used for the preparation of Explosives for transportation, storage and delivery in accordance with the Contract;

“Packaging Design Authority" (PDA) shall mean the organisation that is responsible for the design of the packaging, identified in DEFFORM 111 (Appendix to the Contract – Addresses and Other Information), Box 3; 

“Ammunition Container Assemblies” (ACA) shall have the meaning described in Def Stan 00-088; 

“Ammunition Container” (AC) shall have the meaning described in Def Stan 00-088; 

“Statement of Packaging Requirements” (SOPR) shall mean the completed Annex C to Def Stan 00-088, that forms part of the Contract Specification; 

“Unit Load Specification” (ULS) shall mean a palletised load designed and tested in accordance with Def Stan 00-814; 

 “Explosives” shall have the meaning defined in the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (UN Orange Book) (latest edition), Volume 1, Chapter 2.1;

"Commercial Packaging" shall mean commercial Packaging for military use as described in Def Stan 81-041 (Part 1).
