This specification details the optical requirements for visors and spectacles, flying, for use with aircrew helmets. The specification applies to filter visors used for glare protection to plano sunglasses and to clear visors used for blast and debris protection and to combinations of both.

It is intended that this specification be used to complement particular helmet and associated visor or sunglasses specifications which will detail materials, shape, thickness and function.
