This Standard Practice establishes material, surface finish, dimensional, and testing requirements for preformed V-ring packing sets, packing chambers, and valve stems.
This Standard Practice applies to homogeneous elastomeric and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) V-ring packing for gray iron and ductile iron quarter-turn and multi-turn valves for waterworks applications with a maximum service temperature of 150 °F (66 °C).
