This joint standard details the requirements for qualification and certification of an industrial coating and lining application specialist, known as an Application Specialist. It provides the criteria for the education, training, experience, knowledge, and skills required by this specialist to prepare and apply protective coatings to steel and concrete surfaces of complex industrial structures. It contains appendices detailing the bodt of knowledge qualifications, knowledge and skills requirements, and a skills assessment program. This standard is jointly maintained by the SSPC and NACE Task Group 320.
