This standard details the most current technology and industry practices for material requirements and the use of field-applied tape coatings for external repair, rehabilitation, and weld joints on buried metal pipelines. It presents guidelines for establishing minimum requirements to ensure the proper selection, surface preparation, application, repair, and long-term performance of bonded tape coatings. Tables are provided with information regarding the different types of tape and their applications, as well as accessory materials for application. This standard is maintained by Task Group (TG) 251.
