Aim: The aim of the NATO Ground Moving Target Indicator Format (GMTIF), STANAG 4607, is to promote interoperability for the exchange of ground moving target indicator radar data among North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems. Note that the STANAG 4607 format interprets the term "ground moving target indicator" to mean "targets on the surface of the earth, to include terrestrial, littoral, and deep water areas, stationary rotators, and targets flying close to the surface of the earth".

The STANAG 4607 defines a standard for the data content, a format for the products of ground moving target indicator radar systems, and a recommended mechanism for relaying tasking requests to the radar sensor system from a ground station. This Allied Engineering Documentation Publication (AEDP) provides guidance for the implementation and testing of STANAG 4607, as well as the latest STANAG 4607 approved format.
