Purpose
The purpose of this publication is to characterize, in general terms, the role of accurate and timely meteorological and oceanographic (METOC) to support NATO operations and missions. This support can be tailored to the specific requirements of the commander’s missions, and those of his operational units’ tasks, weapons, sensors and systems. This publication stipulates NATO METOC support doctrine for joint forces operating across the full spectrum of NATO led-activities.
