1. 0 SCOPE
This specification is in three parts: Part 1 -Chemical Composition of International Standard Steel Part 2 -International System of Steel Classification System Part 3 -International Heat Treated Steels Classification System This part of the specification defines a system of steel classification. Wherever practicable, this classification system is to be used on engineering drawings throughout the Company. In general, this specification is intended for non heat-treated applications with the exception of the case hardening classes listed herein. See Part III for specifying heat-treated parts.
