Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification.
APPLICATION
This specification covers plywood material used in school bus floor systems, seat supports, sleeper bunks and other applications.
Type 1 – Standard School Bus flooring/underlayment – B-C, exterior grade adhesive.
Type 2 – Optional School Bus - Marine Grade plywood.
Type 3 – Fungus-rot resistant plywood for School Bus floor – Reserved.
Type 4 – Sleeper bunk support – Medium Density Overlay (MDO).
Type 5 – School Bus seat support-base – plywood
Type 6 – Optional School Bus - Phenolic coated birch plywood.
Type 7 – Veneered and treated medium density fiberboard (MDF) variant for interior trim applications.
Type 8 – An MDF similar to Type 7 but with no veneer.
Type 9 – School Bus seat support-base – oriented strand board (OSB)
Type 10a – Sleeper bunk support – Exterior grade Baltic Birch plywood made entirely of Birch Veneers with phenolic resin glue between those veneers. Finish BB/CP.
Type 10b – Sleeper bunk support – Exterior grade Baltic Birch plywood made entirely of Birch Veneers with phenolic resin glue between those veneers. Finish CC/CP.
Type 10c – Sleeper bunk support –Phenolic coated exterior grade Baltic Birch plywood made entirely of Birch Veneers with phenolic resin glue between those veneers. Finish BB/CP.
Type 10d - Sleeper bunk support –Phenolic coated exterior grade Baltic Birch plywood made entirely of Birch Veneers with phenolic resin glue between those veneers. Finish CC/CP
