APPLICATION

This specification applies to finish painted metallic components exposed to temperatures in excess of 150⁰C/300⁰F) up to and including worst-case exhaust aftertreatment regeneration conditions (650˚C /1200˚F). Specific examples include painted, fabricated steel stanchions, brackets and mount structures which may or may not be designed to carry exhaust gas, that act as support structures for exhaust pipes and aftertreatment devices, ferrous castings with cosmetic requirements that come into contact with exhaust pipes and/or aftertreatment components (excluding engine manifolds), and welds on aluminized steel and aluminized stainless exhaust pipes.
