Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification.
APPLICATION
This specification covers performance and quality requirements for paint finish on metallic components exposed to high operating temperatures up to and including worst-case exhaust aftertreatment regeneration conditions. Specific examples include painted exhaust stanchions which may or may not be designed to carry exhaust gas as well as act as support structures and can see temperatures as high as 650˚C (1200˚F) at the inlet.
Two types of heat-resistant finishes are described in this specification:
Type 1 – for maximum operating temperatures to 1000˚F (538˚C)
Type 2 – for maximum operating temperatures to 1200˚F (650˚C)
