This specification covers engineering design examination requirements for development and production aircraft weapon systems which consist of (a) investigations and analyses, (b) tests, and (c) engineering documentation. This specification also provides guidance for acquisition of the associated engineering documentation with the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL), DD Form 1423 (See 6.2). Related flight demonstration requirements and their associated CDRLs are specified in MIL-D-8708 and MIL-D-23222 respectively for fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, and are not included in this specification.
