NFPA 1142 identifies minimum standards for fire fighting water supplies in areas where hydrant systems do not exist. It provides methods for determining water supply requirements based on occupancy and construction classifications. This standard also provides information regarding apparatus construction for water tankers. Formerly NFPA 1231.
