NFPA 1150 covers foam chemical requirements and characteristics, and cleaning and testing procedures. In this 2004 edition, test protocols and material subject to the testing have been updated to reflect current use of the foam chemicals and to standardize with the method being used by USDA Forest Service for approval of foam chemicals for Class A fires. Also standardized are percentages of foam solution used for various tests.

The document is reorganized for consistency with NFPA's Manual of Style.
