This is a new test procedure for evaluating room fire growth contribution of wall and ceiling interior finishes, other than textile wall coverings. This document measures certain fire performance characteristics of interior finishes when exposed to specified fire exposed conditions. The 2000 edition of NFPA 101?, Life Safety Code?, will be referencing NFPA 286 as an acceptable testing procedure for interior finishes.
